The device connects directly to the target region, with a clear path structure suited to general web access, lightweight tools, and backup connections. Direct performance is more sensitive to the local ISP and international gateway. If it works normally during the day but becomes unstable at peak hours, switch to a relay or dedicated route in the same region instead of changing the target country first.
The connection first enters a relay point and is then sent to the target region. Its value lies in reorganizing the international path when a direct connection from the local network to the target region is unstable. A relay is not automatically better because it is shorter; judge it by the target service region and sustained connection performance, and keep the exit stable once selected for work sessions.
Dedicated routes are better suited to peak-hour stability, sustained transfers, and video playback. They do not change the quality of the local network, so close bandwidth-heavy background tasks during testing and observe performance during your usual hours.
